Icelandic designer, Liborius Reykjavík, has created an cardboard work-table that can be broken down into a suitcase sized carrier that weighs very little for the table it provides. Here is an interesting new drink. With all the craze of "energy" drinks lately I guess it was only a matter of time before someone created the polar opposite. This drink contains melatonin, valerian root, and rose hips which enable you to "slow your roll." The drink appears to be based on the cough syrup based recreational drug known as "Purple Drank." Restroom Sound Maker for Privacy

"The Magical Water Princess" is in fact not a princess at all. It is a Japanese restroom accessory that is placed in toilet stalls in Japan in order to make it impossible to hear others using the restroom. The device emits a chirping sound for privacy. It is apparently a major fear of Japanese women to have others hearing them use the restroom. In the 80's women used to flush the toilet multiple times while they were using it in order to cover up the sounds involved. This ended up wasting an insane amount of water and costing restaurants and other public places insane amounts of money. Gameboy Shoes

The shoes have become increasingly popular in Japan but I don't hink we'll see them anytime soon in the U.S. There are several different types that are available and showcased over at syberpunk.com. UPDATE: Apparently the shoes were designed by shoe designer, Helen Red Richards. The shoes have been exhibited since the end of 2000 in some U.K. art galleries. The shoes are available to order through Nintendo only but I'm not sure how to order them. SOURCE

The product is cleverly named "Obecalp."I think the idea is that you give your kid the pill and you trick him into getting better. I can see how this could go terribly wrong. "Dead" Lady Comes Back to Life

This is really freakin' weird. Val Thomas, a West Virginia woman, had two heart attacks which lead to no brain waves occuring for more than 17 hours. Then her heart stopped and she was considered dead by doctors. Rigor Mortis, the condition that causes dead bodies to stiffen had already set in and her fingers had began to curl. A respiratory machine kept her "lifeless" body breathing for consideration for organ donation. Ten minutes after they pulled everything other than the respirator she woke up and started talking to people in the room. Japanese "Evil" Snack Marketing

Tohato, A Japanese food producer, has launched an intersting new marketing campaign to get the word out on some new spicy snacks they're making. The two products are awesomely named "Tyrant Habanero Burning Hell Hot" and "Satan Jorquia Bazooka Deadly Hot." Customers can use their mobile phone camera to scan in a barcode on the snack and join an army for an online multiplayer game. You can either join the Habanero Evil Army or the Satan Jorquia Evil Army. The awesomest thing about the game seems to be that both armies are "evil!" Virtual Iraq for Veterans

Albert Rizzo, a University of Southern California Clinical Psychologist, has developed a new virtual reality system that simulates the horrors of Iraq to help vets suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). The system uses a head-mounted display, earphones, and a smell generator to re-create the many horriying elements of the battlefield. Seems kind of strange way to treat someone who is still freaking out cause of war time experiences but according to the research it will help the veterans become desensitized to their fears. The U.S. Department of Defense is currently testing the system on soldiers returning from Iraq with serious psychological trauma. Read more about it in the New Yorker after the link below.Link

NYU Virtual Girlfriend

28 year old NYU student, Drew Burrows, has created an interesting piece of art which can be seen as "creepy" or perhaps "sad" by most. He has created a "virtual girlfriend" that is projected onto the bed next to him. The program that runs the projection responds to various movements that it picks up from infrared sensors in order to allow the projected "girlfriend" to respond accordingly. While the item is mainly a piece of art meant to showcase his technical abilities, Burrows admits that it is "So nice if you're tired and worn out to have someone to curl up with." The Joubert Family family from South Africa apparently wants to die. They have a female hippo living in their house with them as a pet. The animal has free reign to walk around the house and even eats at the table with the family. If that's not enough the pet even drinks tea! The family found the hippopotamus abandoned as a baby and apparently decided to raise it. I sure hope this thing doesn't get mad one day when it enters puberty. Corpse Fiend Dentist

Mastromarino has been working with the funeral directors to harvest reusable body parts from the recently deceased and selling them illegally to tissue banks, hospitals, and even denture makers. Holocaust Carnival Float?!

A Rio De Janeiro, Brazil Samba group has been barred from running their Holocaust float in theupcoming notorious carnival which the town is known for. The float was to feature a large pile ofmannequins made to look like Holocaust victims and a couple of dancing girls on top of the pile wearing Nazi uniforms. Wow. Just wow. Hillary Clinton's Campaign Music

Hillary Clinton has been using a controversial song in her campaign by Golden Earring called "When the Lady Smiles." The music video for the song includes disturbing imagery of a nun getting raped and the attacker's brain being eaten by a dog. It's really weird and really creepy. Something tells me that Hillary has never seen this video. However, in her defense I'm not sure very many people out there even know this video exists. At least until now.

Christopher Conte is an artificial limb designer and robotics hobbyist. He has created some of the most awesome looking robotic sculptures I have ever seen on the internet. His works have a kind of "cyberpunk" or "steampunk" look to them and never cease to have a unique look of individuality. Death Ray of Cleveland

According to this historic article a death ray machine was created in Cleveland, OH in 1934. This death ray apparently had the capability of killing things with frightening efficiency "turning blood to water." Witnesses to demonstrations of the machine are said to have seen it kill dogs, cats, and rabbits instantly when the ray was directed at them. World's Worst Museum Auction

Anonymous Vs. Scientology

Perhaps you have heard of the organization of internet users known as anonymous that congregate on the 4chan imageboards as well as others and have been known to be internet "trouble causers" or perhaps "heroes." Well they have apparently decided to start a war against The Church of Scientology. The way Anonymous conducts "war" usually is by flooding servers and causing them to crash with intense amounts of traffic. I'm not sure whether this is a joke or if this is serious but it is interesting nonetheless. Area 51 Has Been Renamed

The controversial US Air Force base in Southern Nevada known as Area 51 has finally been renamed by the Air Force to Homey Airport. For years it has been criticized by UFO enthusiasts as a possible location for UFO research activity by our government. An expedition led by Josh Gates for the TV show Destination Truth has discovered what they are calling a Yeti Footprint in Nepal. The footprint was cast in order to preserve it. I'd like to believe that the Yeti exists but some would say it is merely the brainchild of locals to bring in tourism and thrill seekers.
